Who is a good candidate for Spravato?
You may benefit from taking SPRAVATO® with or without an oral antidepressant if you’re an
adult with clinical depression who has had an inadequate response to two or more
antidepressants, known as treatment-resistant depression.
-
Those who cannot tolerate the side effects of other medications
-
Patients who haven’t responded well to standard behavioral or psychological therapies

How does Spravato work?
SPRAVATO® is the only FDA-approved nasal spray for adults with treatment-resistant depression that can be taken with or without an oral antidepressant, giving you more options and flexibility.
Will Spravato work?
Clinical studies have shown rapid reduction in depression symptoms and a significant improvement at 4 weeks for patients using SPRAVATO®. There can be a reduction in depression symptoms seen at just 24 hours.
During SPRAVATO® in combination with an oral antidepressant, patients who stayed on SPRAVATO® were less likely to experience a return of depressive symptoms (known as relapse) compared to patients who stopped therapy.
What is a Spravato session like?
Spravato treatment is available at both our Joppa and Towson outpatient clinics. During your appointment, you'll self-administer the Spravato nasal spray under the supervision of your provider. Afterward, you'll relax in a comfortable reclining chair for a two-hour monitoring period. You may spend this time listening to music, reflecting, or simply resting. Once the observation period is complete, you'll be able to leave the clinic with your designated driver.
